- They cann't afford fare to job plus feed their families.
- MATATU saccos to come on board and solve the crisis.
- Enlighten the normal Mwananchi from the high cost of living.
Recent reforms in the withdrawal of subsidy in cost of fuel products is at it's peek in the pockets of "normal mwananchi". citizens haven't healed yet from the covid-19 pandemic that is still fresh in their minds on how it has led to a drastic change in the economy, not only financially but also the norm in their lifestyle.
Rising cost of fuel in the city of Nairobi is alarming,
Cost of petrol in the Capital Nairobi.

Ksh.159.12 - Diesel- Ksh.165
Ksh.140 - kerosene- Ksh.147. 94
Ksh.127.94
The figures above are not only appearing on the petrol stations tall posters, on our roads and business is expected to be a crisis. The travel charges in the city have never gone beyond the current situation that is withinessed. Touching on matters partaining fuel is a pivort that affects everything in the economy, for that Unga to reach the resident in a local village in interior most part of the city it passes through road.Unga aside because that is another crisis on it's own.
On a survey along operation of Matatus in the capital Nairobi, more specifically on the Mombasa Road routes. The charges in the pick hours and Normal hours has increased. Atleast ksh 20 has added up ontop of the initial fare prices. The most interesting point, irrespective of your dropping point, you will be forced to pay same charges as to the person reaching the final destination.
For instance, passenger A boarding from stage X and drops stages Y will pay the same fare equivallent to passenger B boarding from same stage X and alights at stage Z. It's not logic as from your point of view but it is logic on our roads currently.
Stake holders concerned with the transport sector, private matatu owners should come on board and find an equalizing solution to the current issues,. Without finding a lasting solution, normal mwananchi will be forced to dig deep into their pockets. kenyans will be at a high risk of increasing the number of families living in poverty if this situation is not attended to.
